FSQ Manager

About This Role

Lead and manage the Food Safety & Quality team for a distribution center, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and collaborating with operations to optimize product quality throughout the supply chain.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Quality Error Rate to departmental goal and track labor minutes per box
• Conduct inbound inspection activities and warehouse checks
• Support internal prep activities related to product pick errors
• Collaborate on implementation and modifications to FSQA programs
• Create a strong culture of food safety and quality through process execution and enhancement
• Lead internal and external food safety audit programs (SQF, mock audits, USDA, FDA)
• Conduct root cause analyses (RCAs) for increased error rates and non-conformance events
• Manage the Quality Food Safety team, including scheduling, onboarding, training, and performance management
• Provide team with necessary tools, training, equipment, and technology
• Be accountable for sending accurate and verified information to partnering teams
• Escalate opportunities quickly and accurately for efficient resolution
• Represent the team as the quality leader of the Newark Distribution Center
• Build relationships with external teams like Fulfillment Ops, Logistics, Procurement, IT, etc.

Requirements

• 2+ years experience in quality assurance
• Well-versed in quality systems, food safety regulations, HACCP, GFSI, GMPs

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or related management work experience
• At least 2+ years of work experience in quality assurance, combined with demonstrated track-record as a quality assurance supervisor.
