The Front Office Receptionist will manage patient registration, verify insurance coverage, and provide exceptional customer service to patients and medical professionals. This role ensures smooth front office operations and supports patient care by handling administrative tasks.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors in person or on the telephone and refer inquiries
- Note patient arrival in the Practice Management System (EMR)
- Identify patients by date of birth and name, creating new accounts if necessary
- Prepare necessary patient paperwork prior to appointments
- Call "No Show" appointments to reschedule and update the Practice Management System (EMR)
- Schedule appointments in person or by telephone to optimize patient satisfaction and provider time
- Respond to patients in distress during emergency situations
- Update patient information in the Practice Management System (EMR)
- Verify insurance eligibility, financial status, and determine prior authorization requirements
- Keep the reception area clean and organized
- Record and collect patient copays and/or balances at check-in/out
- Maintain confidentiality of patient personal and financial information
- Demonstrate superior customer service skills routinely
Requirements
- High School Diploma
Qualifications
- High School Diploma required; Associates Degree preferred
- 1 year customer service experience in health care office preferred
