About This Role

Create original, engaging illustrations for a 20-page children's book, collaborating with the author to translate narrative into compelling visuals. This contract role offers flexibility to work remotely and potential for future projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop original illustrations for each page of a 20-page children's book, ensuring consistency in style and character design
• Collaborate closely with the author to interpret the narrative and translate it into compelling visual scenes
• Design layouts that enhance the reading experience and support the flow of the story
• Prepare final artwork files suitable for print and digital formats
• Incorporate feedback and revisions promptly to meet project milestones
• Maintain clear communication throughout the project to ensure alignment with the creative vision

Requirements

• Proven experience in illustration, preferably with a portfolio showcasing children's book or narrative work
• Strong skills in graphic design and book layout principles
• Proficiency with digital illustration tools such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or Procreate
• Ability to create engaging, age-appropriate artwork that appeals to children
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow creative direction
• Strong communication skills and responsiveness to feedback
