As a Fractional Senior Accountant, you will support client accounting and finance operations, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting for a professional services firm. This hands-on contract role involves managing a range of accounting duties for various clients.
Responsibilities
- Handle customer billings and collections
- Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Perform credit card and bank transaction entries and coding
- Assist with month, quarter, and year-end close procedures
- Reconcile balance sheets and prepare financial statements
- Support annual audit preparation
- Recommend improvements for accounting systems and procedures
- Document processes for smooth hand-off to permanent finance leadership
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting
- 5+ years of experience in a fast-paced accounting department
- Working knowledge of GAAP and GL oversight
- Working knowledge of tax filings such as 1099s and sales tax forms
- Working knowledge of ASC 606
- Proficiency with common finance and accounting software such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, Expensify, Bill.com
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting
- 5+ years of experience in a fast-paced accounting department
