Founding Lead Recruiter

About This Role

As the Founding Lead Recruiter, you will establish and mature the talent acquisition function at Charge Robotics, a Series A startup building robots for solar farm construction. You will own the entire recruitment lifecycle, from strategy to closing, and partner with hiring managers to build a stellar team that transforms the solar industry.

Responsibilities

• Build the talent function and recruiting processes from scratch
• Own the end-to-end recruitment lifecycle, from sourcing and screening to negotiating and closing
• Be a strategic partner to hiring managers across the company, collaborating on candidate strategy and ensuring that hiring goals are met in a timely manner with top-tier candidates
• Create a positive, seamless, and fair candidate experience
• Initially lead employee onboarding until the people function grows
• Report to and collaborate closely with the founder/CEO
• Be the face of Charge Robotics and help build a stellar employer brand

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in recruiting, at least some of that for engineering roles
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Superb negotiation and relationship management skills
• Detail-oriented with a ruthless ability to prioritize
• Metrics-driven mindset, leveraging data to understand pipeline health and improve velocity, quality, retention
• Proficient in ATS and other HR technologies (Ashby, LinkedIn Recruiter, Bookface, Gusto)
• Enjoy working in a fast-paced, in-person startup environment
• Based in or able to relocate to the SF Bay Area, and able to work 4-5 days/week from the San Leandro HQ

Qualifications

• 4-year degree in the liberal arts or a related area (nice to have)
• 6+ years of experience in recruiting, with some experience in engineering roles

• Hired across software and hardware roles
• Experience building out a people function for a small and rapidly growing team, including owning recruiting-adjacent processes like onboarding, brand-building, or HR
