About This Role

Operate forklifts and other equipment to handle materials, manage inventory, and support production in a food manufacturing environment. This role requires adherence to health and safety standards while working with independence and contributing to process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Unload materials and merchandise from incoming vehicles and stack them in assigned places
  • Locate and move stock of products to pallets or crates for storage or shipment
  • Identify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies
  • Transport raw materials to production workstations
  • Inspect machinery to determine the need for repairs and guarantee safety by performing regular maintenance
  • Keep updated records of inventory and activity logs
  • Comply with company policies and legal guidelines
  • Help maintain a safe and orderly environment of the facilities, working with independence to receive foods, run assembly lines, follow Good Manufacturing Practices, and meet health and safety standards
  • Rotate and check food ingredients for freshness and quality, ensuring accurate traceability methods are followed
  • Keep work area/assembly clean, demonstrating clean-as-you-go methods
  • Prepare and understand a variety of paperwork associated with raw materials, traceability, packaging, quality, and controls
  • Assist Associate Trainees with developing their skills and experience and championing a project or team effort
  • Ensure all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) are followed and champion GMP processes
  • Use computer software and electronic equipment to enter data, show receipt of goods, time spent preparing products, and equipment used
  • Ensure correct usage of SAP B1 ERP system
  • Identify and escalate issues with product, food safety, quality, or equipment to other departments or higher levels

Requirements

  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Basic knowledge of how to operate packaging machinery and PLC Screen
  • Ability to read, write and speak English; comprehension of basic math
  • Willingness and flexibility to work in a cold, wet, fast-paced, 24-hour plant environment
  • Minimum of 12 months of Forklift Operator experience
  • Minimum of 12 months working in a manufacturing environment applying standard processes, procedures, and equipment
  • Forklift Certified

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 12 months of Forklift Operator experience and 12 months in a manufacturing environment

Nice to Have

  • Experience in applying and enforcing routine Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) in a chilled food environment
