About This Role

This role involves conducting annual Spongy Moth Trapping Surveys to detect, monitor, and provide data for managing this invasive insect, which poses a serious threat to Minnesota's forests and urban trees. You will be responsible for assembling, placing, inspecting, and removing detection traps.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and place up to 800 cardboard detection traps
  • Inspect detection traps
  • Remove detection traps
  • Collect data using a GPS-enabled tablet (training provided)
  • Report daily to a lead worker

Requirements

  • Reliable vehicle for driving survey routes
  • Ability to work full-time during trap placement and removal periods
  • Ability to work from specified regions in Minnesota, or close proximity in WI or IA
