This role involves conducting annual Spongy Moth Trapping Surveys to detect, monitor, and provide data for managing this invasive insect, which poses a serious threat to Minnesota's forests and urban trees. You will be responsible for assembling, placing, inspecting, and removing detection traps.
Responsibilities
- Assemble and place up to 800 cardboard detection traps
- Inspect detection traps
- Remove detection traps
- Collect data using a GPS-enabled tablet (training provided)
- Report daily to a lead worker
Requirements
- Reliable vehicle for driving survey routes
- Ability to work full-time during trap placement and removal periods
- Ability to work from specified regions in Minnesota, or close proximity in WI or IA
