This role involves assembling, preparing, serving, and delivering meals to patients and other customers within a food services department. It also includes attending to dietary needs and assisting with department sanitation.
Responsibilities
- Assembles, prepares, serves, and delivers trays, meals, and nourishments to patients, floors and other customers or clients
- Attends to patient, nursing and/or other customer food service and related requests, needs or requirements in a friendly, cheerful, patient and customer-focused manner
- Collects trays and other items for transport to Food Service
- Assists in the sanitation of the entirety of the department including, but not limited to, pots, dish room, trash, floors and special cleaning as assigned
Requirements
- Ability to communicate clearly, effectively, and courteously
- Ability to read, comprehend and write simple and moderately complex instructions in English
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic functions
- Ability to use common sense in carrying out instructions and solving problems
- Ability to use kitchen, trayline and warewashing equipment
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent or four years of work-related experience
Nice to Have
- Ability to speak and communicate in Spanish
