About This Role

Serve patients and hospital staff food and beverages, maintain cleanliness of food service areas, and deliver meals to patient rooms, ensuring adherence to hygiene standards and patient dietary needs.

Responsibilities

  • Scrape trays, load and unload dish machine, sort silverware, and put clean dishes in proper place
  • Transport supplies to various areas of the department and hospital
  • Prepare, portion, and assemble food and beverages for patient and resident service
  • Deliver and collect patient/resident trays during meal service
  • Record food and fluid intake on I&O cards in patient rooms and on census sheet for residents
  • Follow proper procedure for patients on calorie counts
  • Remove trash to disposal area and clean trash containers
  • Sweep and mop kitchen and cafeteria
  • Ensure that trays, utensils, and all service wares are clean prior to placing in service
  • Report all meal service-related problems to the Manager of Nutrition Services

Requirements

  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions and established procedures
  • Ability to carry out tasks and functions listed under specific duties
  • Required to complete all annual competency training and maintain license and/or certification

Qualifications

  • High School graduate or GED equivalent preferred
  • Food Service worker experience preferred
