Food Service Worker II

About This Role

This role involves setting up tray lines and cafeterias, assembling and serving meals, and preparing various food items. It focuses on ensuring proper food handling, sanitation, and customer service in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patient tray line and cafeteria serving areas by setting out hot and cold food items as specified on the menu
• Prepare salads, desserts, and cold entrees by following approved recipes, ensuring quality control and sanitation standards
• Distribute and serve food to appropriate locations, garnishing and presenting meals appealingly
• Demonstrate knowledge of food preparation for modified diets based on age, nutrient, and texture modifications
• Greet customers following Northside’s service standards and serve food utilizing basic food handling techniques
• Complete daily taste and temperature logs as required
• Clean, wash, and organize utensils, dishes, and trays
• Clean and sanitize serving or food preparation areas, and ensure leftover foods are properly labeled and stored
• Clean and maintain standard kitchen equipment used in food preparation
• Prepare snacks, such as sandwiches and milk shakes, and keep nourishment items up to date
• Label and deliver food bags
• Practice proper safety techniques and immediately report any equipment malfunctions, unsafe conditions, or injury-accidents to Manager

Requirements

• Ability to read, write, and follow written and oral instructions
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations

Nice to Have

• Six (6) months of Food Service experience
• Six (6) months of customer service experience
