About This Role

Supervise the Food Service department during evening and weekend meal services, ensuring smooth operations from food production to catering functions and staff management. This role focuses on maintaining quality service and enforcing departmental policies.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the Food Service department during evening and weekend meal service
  • Oversee placement of staffing, food production, service, and closing tasks
  • Set up, serve, and clean up assigned catering functions
  • Enforce policies and guidelines set forth by the food service department
  • Ensure a positive dining experience for students and patrons
  • Manage CBORD operations during evening and weekend shifts
  • Ensure safety and sanitation in the Food Service Department
  • Ensure staff members use FIFO method for food labeling and storage
  • Handle cashier duties, including cash sales, charges, and meal plans
  • Manage small-scale evening catering drop-offs and pick-ups
  • Communicate regularly with the catering manager regarding group events
  • Report problems, concerns, or suggestions to Food Service management
  • Control costs by managing portion sizes, quantity, and quality of production
  • Train and supervise student staff professionally
  • Organize theme nights for residence hall students
  • Maintain equipment and report any breakage

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Good driving record
  • Ability to pass a background check

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED, post-secondary education preferred
