Floor Hand

About This Role

This Floor Hand position is part of a rig crew responsible for performing services on oil and gas wells. The role primarily involves assisting in rigging operations, operating well servicing equipment, and maintaining the work area.

Responsibilities

• Assist in rigging up and rigging down operations
• Line up the well service rig with the well
• Set hydraulic jacks and handle pads/boards
• Operate rod wrenches, tongs, elevators, and other associated rig tools
• Assist in picking up or laying down tubing
• Maintain tubing, rod tongs, and hand tools on the rig
• Dismantle and repair oil field machinery using hand tools and power tools
• Clean up spills and keep pipe deck and main deck areas orderly
• Report any safety hazards, incidents, or maintenance issues to the Rig Supervisor
• Ensure work complies with company policies, procedures, and safety regulations

Requirements

• Basic oilfield well servicing experience
• Minimum of one year rig floor operation experience
• Valid state issued driver license with acceptable motor vehicle records (MVR)
• Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and written in English
• Ability to work a varied rotational schedule and travel as job requires
• Ability to climb ladders and stairs
• Ability to lift up to 75lbs
• Ability to work in all weather conditions
• Ability to perform duties with protective equipment, H2S respirator where required
• Mobility including entering confined spaces, using ladders, bending, stooping, twisting, standing, squatting, crawling, and walking
• Ability to interact with others in a team environment
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks
• Basic problem solving and organizational skills
• Reliable telephone (cell phone) communication and transportation
• Able to clear pre-employment drug/alcohol and job-relevant screens

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or the equivalent is preferred
• Minimum of one year rig floor operation experience; basic oilfield well servicing experience
