Financial Wellness Specialist

About This Role

This role will build and grow relationships with the community to attract, retain, and grow membership within Financial Plus Credit Union, focusing on financial education and awareness.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with members of the community
• Plan, develop, implement, and organize events and volunteers to advance the mission and goals of the company
• Provide one-on-one financial education
• Deliver financial education workshops and follow-up sessions on relevant topics
• Prepare new and refine existing written financial education materials as needed
• Organize community outreach programs and coordinate special events to influence public opinion or promote products, services, or ideas with an emphasis on financial education
• Use social media to coordinate community relations
• Participate in the implementation of financial education program for Credit Union staff development
• Draft and distribute/publish various content pieces that promote the company
• Develop and deliver Credit Union presentations to public groups/agencies to increase awareness
• Select positive publicity materials and distribute them through various channels
• Respond to inquiries from community members and other interested parties, recruiting knowledgeable spokespersons as needed
• Present a positive image of the Credit Union and themselves
• Conduct outreach/network with community organizations, credit union partners, and other similar organizations
• Ensure compliance with all federal and state laws and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act, Patriot Act, and Office of Foreign Asset Controls

Requirements

• At least an Associate’s Degree in Business or similar related experience
• 1-2 years of experience working in Marketing and/or Financial Education
• Understanding in basic computer skills including m365 suites
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to stay organized, meet deadlines, and manage appointments
• Ability to work independently with little direction
• Positive and professional image through effective and courteous communications
• Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy in personal contact
• Ability to apply logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions
• Ability to be mindfully flexible and willing to go with the flow

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Business or similar related experience
• 1-2 years of experience working in Marketing and/or Financial Education
