Financial Services / Admissions Associate

About This Role

This role is responsible for maintaining accurate bookkeeping records, safeguarding company assets, and coordinating patient admissions for NHC HealthCare Clinton. The associate will handle financial transactions, accounts receivable, and ensure compliance with healthcare funding regulations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain bookkeeping records to account for business transactions
• Assure claims have been filed accurately and timely to all parties
• Collect accounts receivable
• Complete monthly revenue process
• Maintain accurate daily census records
• Assist families and/or patients with claims and statement questions
• Attend weekly/monthly meetings as required
• Handle inquiries and conduct assessments for patient admissions
• Obtain accurate, relevant information for placement appropriateness
• Maintain professional working relationship with area hospitals
• Collaborate with center leadership in meeting census goals and maintaining occupancy levels

Requirements

• Bookkeeping experience
• Proficiency in writing and mathematical skills
• Knowledge of bookkeeping fundamentals (accounts payable, payroll, general ledgers)
• Knowledge of medical case management process and healthcare settings
• Working knowledge of funding resources such as Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care and other private insurances
• Ability to work accurately with deadlines and interruptions
• Well-organized and persistent
• Team player
• Good communication and analytical skills
• Attention to details
• Mid-level fluent knowledge of Microsoft Excel

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred or Associate's degree with 2 years bookkeeping experience
• 2 years bookkeeping experience with an Associate's degree, or professional experience with a Bachelor's degree
