Final Inspector

About This Role

The Final Inspector is responsible for examining and packaging finished flooring products on the third shift, ensuring quality and adherence to manufacturer's specifications.

Responsibilities

• Retrieve empty cartons from the carton rack
• Examine flooring on a moving belt for defects such as knots, stains, decay, splits, faulty edges, pitch pockets, wormholes, and defective milling
• Position lumber to indicate grade and further processing instructions
• Determine cuts to be made to obtain the highest marketable value from material
• Remove unsatisfactory pieces from conveyor or table and place pieces on stacks, in bins, or on carts
• Place boards in cartons according to manufacturer’s specifications, ensuring desired footage for each carton
• Place inspection identification marking on full cartons and push cartons onto conveyor belt for strapping

Requirements

• Strong understanding of safety procedures
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to read work instructions and labels
• Efficient communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work independently or as a team and follow instructions

Qualifications

• Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
