About This Role

As a Final Assembly Technician, you will be crucial to Altec's manufacturing process, precisely preparing, assembling, and installing vehicle components while applying welding skills to ensure structural integrity and high quality.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize MIG welding and plasma cutting equipment to join steel components
  • Fasten metal components through drilling and bolting
  • Perform rework and touch-ups to meet quality standards
  • Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to guide welding and assembly tasks
  • Install vehicle components and accessories with precision, using calibrated measuring tools and torque wrenches
  • Install hydraulic components including pump, PTO, and valves
  • Test installed components for functionality and safety
  • Operate equipment within your work area and cross-train across departments
  • Maintain accurate time records and documentation
  • Follow established safety protocols and maintain a clean work area (5S)

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Welding experience
  • Ability to read tape measures, blueprints, and schematics
  • Basic Heavy Duty Truck Knowledge
  • Basic computer knowledge

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Entry level with proficiency in mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, or manufacturing processes a plus.

Nice to Have

  • Proficiency in mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, or manufacturing processes
  • Forklift certification
  • Welding certifications
