As a Final Assembly Technician, you will be crucial to Altec's manufacturing process, precisely preparing, assembling, and installing vehicle components while applying welding skills to ensure structural integrity and high quality.
Responsibilities
- Utilize MIG welding and plasma cutting equipment to join steel components
- Fasten metal components through drilling and bolting
- Perform rework and touch-ups to meet quality standards
- Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to guide welding and assembly tasks
- Install vehicle components and accessories with precision, using calibrated measuring tools and torque wrenches
- Install hydraulic components including pump, PTO, and valves
- Test installed components for functionality and safety
- Operate equipment within your work area and cross-train across departments
- Maintain accurate time records and documentation
- Follow established safety protocols and maintain a clean work area (5S)
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Welding experience
- Ability to read tape measures, blueprints, and schematics
- Basic Heavy Duty Truck Knowledge
- Basic computer knowledge
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Entry level with proficiency in mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, or manufacturing processes a plus.
