Field Tech I - Public Works (Landscape)

About This Role

This position involves routine manual work as part of a maintenance crew, performing heavy physical labor related to city landscapes, roads, sidewalks, and grounds. The role focuses on repairing, maintaining, and cleaning public infrastructure within the City of East Point.

Responsibilities

• Repairs and maintains City landscapes
• Conducts road construction and cleans streets
• Patches potholes and performs other street repair tasks
• Repairs and maintains City sidewalks and grounds
• Loads and unloads materials such as stone, gravel, dirt, asphalt, pipe, timber, and heavy mechanical equipment
• Assists in semi-skilled work including handling tools, carrying or lifting lumber, mixing or placing cement and asphalt concrete, and performing simple repairs or running errands
• Performs various other heavy manual work related to maintenance of streets, roads, and facilities
• Collects and disposes of debris and trash
• Cuts grass around public buildings and right-of-ways
• Operates weed eaters and other grounds maintenance equipment
• Maintains and repairs equipment

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Class C Driver's License

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
