The Field Service Technician Intermediate performs maintenance and repair activities on gas compression and process equipment at customer locations. This role involves diagnosing and repairing mechanical problems on various compressor configurations and contributing to major maintenance efforts as part of a team.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe and well-organized work environment.
- Perform most Call Outs (CO) without assistance from a technical expert.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical problems on multiple compressor configurations.
- Perform Major Maintenance (MM), Overhauls and MOB/DEMOB as part of a team.
- Complete and submit required documentation accurately and timely.
Requirements
- 3+ years experience with natural gas engines and compressors
- Valid driver's license and good driving record
- Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical problems on multiple compressor configurations
- Proficiency in accurately and efficiently performing preventative maintenance
- Intermediate computer skills, including engine specific software (Cat and Waukesha), Internet Explorer and Outlook
- Ability to respond to afterhours requests regularly on an on-call basis
- Knowledge of gas engines and compressors, electrical systems, panel boards, skid wiring, control systems and end-devices
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- At least 3 years of experience with natural gas engines and compressors, and a working knowledge of production equipment.
Nice to Have
- Gas or diesel engine and compressor school / training
- Knowledge of new technologies
- Basic knowledge of troubleshooting Telematics
