Provide essential in-home intervention services to children and families, utilizing skill-based and solution-focused models. This role involves teaching crucial skills and behavioral techniques, accessing community resources, and offering crisis intervention to help families adopt positive solutions to problems.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with families and community service resources
- Provide training and support in the development and utilization of functional skills to families
- Assess problems and provide care to youth and families, monitoring progress towards predetermined goals
- Maintain appropriate direct contact with families per program requirements and be available 24/7 for crisis intervention
- Provide training in the management of difficult behaviors to consumers, including school personnel
- Promote family self-determination by assisting families in identifying and accessing community services and resources
- Educate families on the needs of good physical health, quality medical attention, and preventive health care
- Meet with families and children at various locations, utilizing own vehicle for travel and to transport youth
- Report any critical incidents involving family members or staff according to standard reporting guidelines
- Prepare proper documentation and service plans in a timely manner as defined by the program
Requirements
- Advanced degree in social work or comparable human service field OR bachelor's degree in social work or comparable human service field with 2+ years experience working with children and families
- Minimum 1 year of experience working with children and families
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record
- Ability to provide own transportation (mileage reimbursed)
- Meet auto insurance requirements
- Available rotationally to provide crisis response
- Available to work non-traditional business hours including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays
Qualifications
- An advanced degree in social work or comparable human service field; or a bachelor's degree in social work or a comparable human service field and at least two year's experience working with children and families
- Minimum 1 year of experience including working with children and families
Nice to Have
- Experience working with children and families in community-based programs or Boys Town Programs
- Certification or licensure based on Affiliate Site location, Local contracts, or Federal/State contract requirements
