Family Support Specialist

About This Role

This Family Support Specialist position is responsible for overseeing care coordination and supervision within the East Bay Family Care Community Partnerships, ensuring high-quality client services and staff development. The role focuses on serving families involved with DCYF Protective Services through a community-based prevention and early intervention model.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision and training to all program staff, completing staff assessments and annual performance reviews
• Ensure Clinical Supervisors effectively work with program staff to provide families with assistance and resources
• Develop and maintain relationships with local school faculty, staff, administration, and community partners
• Ensure collaborative working relationship with the Department of Children, Youth and Families (DCYF) Intake and Protective Services
• Implement a strong community-based model of prevention and early intervention for families involved with DCYF Protective Services
• Maintain all case records, performance measures, statistics, and other required paperwork
• Facilitate and maintain client referrals and intake process

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field
• Minimum 2 years’ experience working in child welfare and/or family services
• Strong organizational, critical thinking and time-management skills
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to effectively interact with a diverse population
• Bilingual in Spanish
• Collaboration and teamwork skills
• Valid driver’s license
• Proof of auto insurance
• Car registration
• Ability to meet all background checks and medical clearances

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field
• Minimum 2 years’ experience working in child welfare and/or family services

Nice to Have

• Experience working in the foster care system
