About This Role

Direct the maintenance and improvement operations of YMCA facilities and vehicles in Boulder, ensuring proper function of all systems and compliance with regulations. This role involves planning preventative maintenance, managing budgets, and overseeing facility-related contractors and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate facility maintenance, including planning and developing preventative maintenance programs
  • Ensure proper operation of all mechanical systems
  • Complete repair work and projects in a timely manner
  • Oversee all contractors working in facilities and on grounds, including requesting and reviewing bids
  • Work with outside agencies (fire, health, building departments) to ensure compliance with regulations
  • Develop and monitor budgets for preventative and annual maintenance plans
  • Recruit, hire, train, develop, schedule, and direct assigned staff and volunteers
  • Participate in the YMCA's fundraising campaign
  • Advise management on maintenance issues and projects
  • Ensure assigned vehicles and equipment are maintained and operated according to YMCA policies
  • Update facility plans periodically and potentially develop annual capital project plans
  • Participate in required Manager on Duty shifts

Requirements

  • Current/valid driver's license and MVR meeting YMCA standards
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, carpentry, and other maintenance-related areas
  • CPR certification within 30 days of employment
  • First Aid certification within 30 days of employment
  • AED certification within 30 days of employment
  • Strong communication and human relations skills
  • Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations

Qualifications

  • College degree or 1 to 2 years equivalent job-related experience with additional relevant training or certifications
  • 1 to 2 years equivalent job-related experience

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with personal computers
  • CPO, Certified Pool Operator certification
