Facilities & Grounds Technician

About This Role

This full-time Facilities & Grounds Technician position is responsible for maintaining and repairing equipment, buildings, and physical grounds across all Goodwill of Central and Southern Indiana facilities. The role focuses on performing general repairs, preventive maintenance, relocations, and installations while ensuring quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and complete routine maintenance of facility and physical grounds at all GCSI locations
• Travel to off-site locations by company service vehicle to perform grounds services and routine maintenance
• Disassemble mechanical equipment and tools, repair or replace worn/broken parts, and reassemble
• Adjust parts of mechanical devices as needed and inspect completed repairs
• Perform preventative maintenance as scheduled
• Operate basic hand and machine tools adhering to all safety procedures
• Ensure timely updating and completion of work orders using the CMMS
• Communicate daily and work effectively and professionally with management, customers, and contractors
• Maintain all training requirements and seek opportunities for continuous development and growth
• Cross-train and assist in other areas to build skill base and value within the department

Requirements

• Carpentry skills (measuring, wall anchoring, drywall finishing, installing hardware, hand tools)
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents (safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, electrical schematics)
• Familiarity with computers, tablets, and smartphones for applications and email
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
• Minimum of 18 years of age
• Good driving record

• Prior experience using a CMMS
