Express/Quick Lube Technician

About This Role

The Express/Quick Lube Technician will perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on vehicles with efficiency and accuracy in accordance with dealership standards. This role focuses on entry-level automotive tasks while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Responsibilities

• Receive repair orders from dispatchers and take to stall area
• Perform routine maintenance with efficiency and accuracy in accordance with dealership
• Perform complete MPI and 27-point used car inspection with photos and videos
• Diagnose cause of any entry level malfunctions and perform repair as authorized
• Communicate with Parts Department to obtain needed parts via xTime
• Tag and save parts, turn in parts if the job is under warranty or requested by the customer
• Advise Service Advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within promised time
• Document and quality check work performed
• Road-test vehicles to ensure repair has addressed customer complaint
• Keep abreast of factory technical bulletins
• Ensure that work area and customers' vehicle are kept clean

Requirements

• Prior experience as a lube tech/tire tech (at least 1 year)
• Ability to perform oil changes, tire rotations, tire mount & balance, air filter replacement, cabin air filter replacement
• Ability to read, analyze & interpret technical procedures
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence & procedure manuals
• Ability to regularly lift/move up to 25 lbs
• Basic mathematical skills & reasoning ability
• Customer service, computer & organizational skills
• Satisfactory MVR
• Ability to pass drug screen

Qualifications

• Certificate completed or in progress for Automotive Technology preferred
• At least 1 year of automotive experience required at a lube tech/tire tech position

• Prior or current schooling in automotive technology
• Certificate completed or in progress for Automotive Technology
