Exceptional Student Services Teacher (Self-Contained Classroom)

About This Role

The Exceptional Student Services Teacher will provide instruction and support to students with exceptional needs, focusing on academic and personal growth within a supportive learning environment. This role involves developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and collaborating with staff and families to support student achievement.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction and support to students with exceptional needs, in collaboration with other teachers and staff
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students
• Monitor and evaluate student progress and adjust instruction as needed
• Assist with the development and implementation of behavior modification plans
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on student progress and services provided
• Collaborate with families and community agencies to support student achievement and well-being
• Attend staff meetings and professional development activities as required

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in education, special education, or related field
• Valid Arizona teaching certificate with endorsements in exceptional student services
• Knowledge of laws and regulations governing special education
• Experience working with students with a variety of exceptionalities and disabilities
• Ability to collaborate effectively with other teachers and staff
• Flexibility and adaptability in responding to the needs of students and changing situations
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
