Event Attendant

About This Role

This role involves assisting guests and managing event, retail, and food & beverage operations at the Rocky Mount Event Center. You will collaborate with different departments to ensure smooth event execution and guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Assist guests with questions about the facility
• Serve as the night supervisor and point of contact for guests during nights, weekends, and holidays
• Meet with facility clients to determine needs for various events
• Review use agreements with clients
• Prepare and distribute work orders when necessary
• Keep accurate records of receivables and work with the Finance Manager for proper billing
• Operate office equipment needed to complete tasks
• Assist with carrying chairs, tables, sound equipment, and other items for events
• Work with security to assure the facility is properly closed and locked each evening
• Oversee and assist in post-event cleaning as needed
• Complete any other special projects and daily assignments as directed by the General Manager

Requirements

• 2-3 years of appropriate experience
• Excellent interpersonal, problem solving and negotiating skills
• Team player
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent computer skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends, nights and holidays
• Ability to lift 30 pounds
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of appropriate experience
