About This Role

This role involves planning, leading, and participating in plant safety meetings, implementing and maintaining SDS manuals, and ensuring compliance with safety procedures within a durable goods manufacturing facility. The Safety Coordinator will also train employees on SDS procedures and assist with continuous improvement initiatives related to EHS programs.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, lead, and participate in plant safety meetings in partnership with plant and safety management
  • Implement, inspect, and maintain job site and office SDS manuals
  • Train employees in SDS procedures
  • Ensure compliance with safety information, signs, posters, barriers, and other materials to warn of hazards
  • Ensure the implementation, administration, and maintenance of all facility-specific EHS programs
  • Assist and participate in all EHS continuous improvement initiatives relating to OSHA, EPA, and best management practices
  • Determine corrective or preventative measures, assign responsibility, and follow up to ensure implementation
  • Conduct periodic plant safety inspections to ensure safety procedures are in place, accurate, and up to date
  • Provide recommendations and assistance to safety and plant management regarding plant hazards, training, and safe equipment/material operation
  • Manage the hazardous materials control program, review samples, and test for hazardous materials prior to operations
