Environmental Project Manager

About This Role

Manage and grow an environmental practice in the San Francisco Bay Area, focusing on environmental investigations and soil/groundwater remediation. Oversee staff field activities, prepare proposals and reports, and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the management and growth of the environmental practice in the San Francisco Bay Area
• Conduct and manage environmental investigations
• Manage soil and groundwater remediation projects
• Perform project scheduling and budget control
• Meet and interact with clients and regulatory agencies (US EPA, DTSC, RWQCB, local Environmental Health agencies)
• Coordinate, participate in, and oversee staff field activities including logging (borings, test pits, trenches, cores)
• Evaluate geologic and hydrogeological conditions
• Sample soil, soil gas, and groundwater
• Prepare environmental proposals and reports
• Provide technical support to staff-level engineers, geologists, and field technicians
• Manage clients and client relationships
• Oversee subcontractors and project staff
• Mentor junior staff

Requirements

• Experience with conducting and managing environmental investigations, soil and groundwater remediation, project scheduling, budget control
• Experience meeting and interacting with clients and regulatory agencies
• Proficiency with Word and Excel
• Local experience and familiarity with geologic and engineering practice
• Strong knowledge of state and federal regulations

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field
• 10+ years of experience performing environmental tasks, with at least 5 years of project management experience
