This internship provides hands-on experience in environmental consulting by performing assessments, documenting field activities, and interacting with project stakeholders. It's an opportunity to apply academic knowledge in a real-world setting within the civil engineering and environmental sector.
Responsibilities
- Sample and assess soil, groundwater, air, and other materials
- Observe and document field activities
- Use field screening equipment and document readings
- Interact and communicate daily with contractors, technicians, and project managers
- Write clear field reports of site activities each day
Requirements
- Actively pursuing a Bachelor or Master degree in Civil Engineering with an environmental focus, Geology, Environmental Science or related degree
- Interest in environmental regulations and how environmental issues are related to the construction process
- Ability to provide suitable transportation for use on job sites
- Ability to carry 40 - 70 lbs multiple times a day or occasionally lift 85 lbs to waist height
Qualifications
- Bachelor or Master degree in Civil Engineering with an environmental focus, Geology, Environmental Science or related degree
Nice to Have
- Experience with GIS/GPS
