About This Role

This role will support environmental engineering and consulting projects for private and public sector clients, applying academic knowledge to real-world environmental challenges and developing business skills for a consulting career.

Responsibilities

  • Perform fieldwork, including soil, surface water, and groundwater sampling
  • Conduct drilling and contractor oversight
  • Operate and maintain remediation treatment systems
  • Evaluate chemical data and contaminant fate & transport
  • Perform engineering and data analysis and calculations, including preparing maps, tables, and figures
  • Conduct remediation engineering, including remedy evaluations, cost estimating, design, and implementation
  • Design water and wastewater treatment for industrial facilities
  • Perform computer modeling related to hydraulic analysis
  • Prepare technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals
  • Drive vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental, civil, or chemical engineering
  • Regular fieldwork and overnight travel (up to 25%)
  • Health & Safety training
  • Medical monitoring
  • Client-driven drug and background testing
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental, civil, or chemical engineering
  • Entry-level; prior internship experience (preferred), 2 years of related experience (preferred)

Nice to Have

  • Advanced degree in environmental, civil, or chemical engineering
  • Prior research experience focusing on remediation technologies, water or wastewater treatment, or sustainability
  • 2 years of related experience or prior internship experience in environmental consulting
  • Ability to become professionally licensed within five years of employment
  • Experience with ArcGIS, AutoCAD, WaterGEMS, or InfoWater
