About This Role

This role involves designing and developing custom and standard casework products, providing solutions to the production floor, and automating systems to improve efficiency and performance for a growing furniture and cabinet manufacturer.

Responsibilities

  • Automate systems in use for the group to reduce overtime and increase performance
  • Communicate with project manager and production about job requirements and clarifications
  • Read blueprints and elevational views to design solutions that meet architectural specifications, standards, cost, safety, form, and function
  • Modify and design standard and custom casework products using Microvellum program driven by Excel formulas
  • Develop routing data to direct parts through production and set up route lines for machine code creation
  • Run queries over multiple jobs in Microsoft Access to find anomalies and fix errors
  • Provide timely support and solutions to the production floor to minimize impact on production lines
  • Develop and research hardware for standard and custom products and create detail drawings for manufacturing
  • Manage multiple jobs simultaneously, meet deadlines under pressure, and maintain quality, accuracy, and professional conduct

Requirements

  • Ability to transform rough designs into production data using Microvellum and CAD
  • Familiarity with engineering drawings, specifications, and standards
  • Experience with Microvellum and CAD equipment
  • Solid understanding of drafting techniques, engineering terminology, and mechanical logic
  • Ability to apply experience and judgment to plan, solve problems, and accomplish goals
  • Design creativity, latitude, and motivation

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in a related field or at least 4 years of experience in related areas such as construction and architectural design
  • 4+ years of experience in related areas such as construction and architectural design
