Engineer, Rotating Equipment

About This Role

Provide technical and maintenance guidance for rotating assets to enhance plant reliability and enable manufacturing excellence. Act as a subject matter expert in reliability-focused studies, including root cause analysis for various mechanical equipment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, coordinate, and manage the execution of Maintenance and Engineering projects, including equipment selection, design, and procurement
• Coordinate and supervise outside contractors or consultants for project assignments
• Supervise and coordinate major project installations and equipment repairs during outages or turnarounds
• Analyze rotating equipment deficiencies and/or failures and recommend corrective actions via Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
• Develop major overhaul scopes for plant equipment based on anticipated repairs, known problems, machinery performance, and available downtime
• Develop machinery overhaul procedures to ensure efficient methods
• Develop long-term planning and strategy for optimum reliability and serviceability of rotating and supporting equipment
• Provide formal and informal training to maintenance and operations personnel
• Stay abreast of current technologies in equipment design and operation to improve plant reliability and operations

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in chemical plant or similar environment
• Demonstrated Expertise in Turbomachinery and related equipment
• Working Knowledge and Understanding of relevant API and ASME codes and recommended practice
• Knowledge of asset protection and condition monitoring hardware including vibration analysis

Qualifications

• BS degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or related engineering discipline
• 5+ years of experience in chemical plant or similar environment with responsibilities involving process engineering, maintenance, or operations

Nice to Have

• Professional Engineering Designation
• Knowledge of ammonia, urea, and nitric acid manufacturing processes
