About This Role

Lead and manage sustainability projects, focusing on the electrification of building systems and carbon reduction initiatives for a large educational client in Los Angeles. This role involves applying knowledge of sustainable building principles to facilitate capital improvements and ensure compliance with bond program requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage sustainability projects in accordance with District and program policies
  • Implement the electrification of central plants and other building systems
  • Apply knowledge of Sustainable Building Principles and Standards to complex systems level issues
  • Support districtwide energy master planning, carbon reduction, grid resiliency, and electrification initiatives
  • Apply knowledge of energy and environmental sustainability approaches, such as LEED credits
  • Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams to meet project requirements and timelines
  • Assist College Project Teams with technical issues and peer review Request For Clarifications and Change Orders
  • Perform electrical engineering analysis and technical reports supporting District design guidelines
  • Ensure integration of LED lighting systems, PV, BESS, EV charging, microgrids, and smart controls
  • Involvement in all parts of the project life cycle, including master planning, design, construction, and closeout

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 10+ years of professional electrical engineering experience in design, construction, or facilities infrastructure projects
  • Strong knowledge of California Energy Codes, Title 24 Energy Code, National Electrical Code (NEC), California Code of Regulations Part 11 (Cal Green Code) and applicable electrical engineering standards

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 10+ years of professional electrical engineering experience in design, construction, or facilities infrastructure projects

Nice to Have

  • 2 years' experience in Educational Facility Construction
  • Experience and/or certification in LEED projects
  • Experience and/or certification in CHPS projects
  • California Professional Engineering (PE) license in Electrical Engineering
