This role is responsible for the planning and implementation of construction projects for the Kenosha Water Utility (KWU). The Engineer-In-Training will coordinate and review the work of contractors and consultants, ensuring compliance with contract documents and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Design water and sanitary sewer systems and infrastructure, and assist with water/wastewater treatment facility design
- Prepare and review engineering specifications, plans, and reports, making design and policy recommendations
- Assist with review of private development plans and adjoining community infrastructure improvement plans
- Function as project manager on utility construction projects, directing work, supervising, inspecting, and reviewing data
- Act as Utility liaison between consultants, developers, contractors, property owners, and the public
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college or university (to be acquired by end of current semester)
- Possession of EIT (Engineer-In-Training) certification from the state of Wisconsin within one (1) year of hire date
- Valid driver's license and a good driving record
