This EMT-Per Diem position within the Selma Fire Department's EMS Division provides basic life support services to ill and injured persons in a pre-hospital and inter-facility setting. The role focuses on delivering high-level care, treatment, and transport for patients while maintaining professional standards and assisting in department programs.
Responsibilities
- Provide Basic Life Support (BLS) services to ill and injured persons in pre-hospital and inter-facility settings
- Maintain, operate, and assist in an Advance Life Support ambulance
- Administer prescribed treatment at emergency sites (e.g., first aid, immobilization, oxygen, wound care)
- Maintain a professional appearance and attitude as a representative of the Selma Fire Department
- Ensure completion and accuracy of all paperwork
- Assist in the maintenance of EMS equipment and stations
- Participate in the department’s public education programs and training division
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current Fresno County EMT 1A certificate
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – provider or instructor
- Current California Ambulance Driver certificate with a current Medical Examiner’s card
- Possession of an appropriate California driver’s license
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
