About This Role

This specialist position is responsible for a variety of human resource functions, including employee relations, HR compliance, and performance management at Texas Woman's University. The role involves conducting complex investigations of alleged violations, monitoring compliance, and managing performance systems to ensure a fair and compliant work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as point of contact for harassment, discrimination, or misconduct allegations (Title VII, Title IX, ADA)
  • Provide guidance on HR policies and practices including performance management and disciplinary actions
  • Collect facts and assess steps necessary to support compliance with University policy and laws
  • Maintain thorough and well-documented investigative processes and evidentiary material
  • Develop professionally written, comprehensive, unbiased written reports with summaries and findings
  • Act as a neutral party through all investigation aspects, promoting a fair and neutral process
  • Analyze and logically reach conclusions and investigative outcomes
  • Keep apprised of new developments and best practices in discrimination investigations and relevant legislation
  • Lead the maintenance, tracking, and management of the Staff Performance Evaluation Program in Oracle
  • Process, track, and participate in hearings for all unemployment claims for the university

Requirements

  • 2+ years of professional experience conducting investigations or performing human resources responsibilities
  • Experience and ability in conducting investigations, composing clear, concise, timely and professionally written investigative reports
  • Ability to manage confidential information and independently and efficiently manage a significant caseload
  • Ability to determine and apply appropriate legal standards in assessing and investigating allegations of discrimination
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws pertaining to civil rights, discrimination, and harassment as they apply to colleges and universities (EEO, ADA, Title VI, Title VII, Title IX, Clery Act, VAWA, ADEA)
  • Background knowledge and training in Title VII, Title IX and other federal and state non-discrimination laws
  • Demonstration of tact, discretion, professionalism, maturity and outstanding interpersonal, oral and written communication skills

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Two years of professional experience conducting investigations or performing human resources responsibilities. Higher Education experience preferred.

Nice to Have

  • Higher Education experience
  • Working knowledge of the operation and administration of TWU’s Oracle Cloud HCM system
  • Knowledge of the higher education environment and risk management concerns
