Supervise clinical services in an emergency veterinary setting, ensuring efficient workflow, managing team members, and addressing client and process issues. This role supports the patient and client experience by providing leadership and mentorship.
Responsibilities
- Escalate issues to the Clinical Manager
- Function as a scheduled Clinical Services team member within department(s)
- Collaborate with other departments regarding patient and client needs
- Prioritize and organize workflows for shift
- Directly manage Clinical Services team members while on shift
- Manage early call-ins, early departures, call-offs, sharing of resources, breaks and lunches for team members
- Assign team member responsibilities per shift
- Address process or employee issues during their shift
- Communicate schedule changes, performance concerns and shift issues to the Clinical Manager routinely
- Serve as first level responder to client concerns and drug escalations
- Train and mentor new team members
- Provide input to Clinical Manager on team member performance evaluations
- Participate in on-call responsibilities
- Participate in management or administrative meeting(s) routinely
Requirements
- Prior veterinary experience
- Proficient in calculations (drugs, constant rate infusions, unit conversions, etc.)
- Flexibility with work hours
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Qualifications
- Prior veterinary experience required, previous surgery experience desired
