Emergency Department Tech I

About This Role

As an Emergency Department Tech I, you will provide patient and family-centered care under the direction of a Registered Nurse. This role involves a range of patient care responsibilities, focusing on the physical and emotional aspects of emergency patients.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced life support within the scope of practice and participate in Rapid responses.
• Accurately take and record vital signs, intake & output, height, and weight in a timely manner.
• Complete department-specific annual waived testing competencies (e.g., glucometer, urine dip stick, urinalysis, pregnancy testing).
• Perform venipuncture and IV insertion.
• Escort patients to assigned rooms, assist with changing into gowns, and prepare for physical assessments.
• Perform CPR according to BLS guidelines.
• Perform 12-lead EKG and set up for cardiac monitoring.

Requirements

• HS Diploma/GED
• Graduate of a Certified Medical Assistant program
• One year of Customer Service experience
• Excellent oral, listening, and written communication skills
• Computer literacy

Qualifications

• HS Diploma/GED and Graduate of a Certified Medical Assistant program
• One year of Medical Assisting experience strongly preferred, One year of Customer Service experience.

Nice to Have

• One year of Medical Assisting experience
• Bilingual skills (English/Spanish)
