Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN)

About This Role

This Registered Nurse (RN) position in the Emergency Department is responsible for delivering safe patient care using the nursing process and providing direct patient care within their scope of practice. The role involves guiding patient/family teaching and other nursing personnel while maintaining professional nursing care standards.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation
• Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice
• Direct and guide patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel
• Maintain standards of professional nursing care in Telemetry
• Communicate with the physician about changes in patients' clinical condition
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition and/or response to treatment
• Report child/adult abuse to appropriate agencies and Hospital Social Worker
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality

Requirements

• Current and valid state RN License
• Current BLS certificate upon hire
• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire
• Current PALS certificate and/or ENPC 30 days upon hire
• Basic Arrythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire
• Minimum of one year experience as a staff nurse RN in an acute care hospital setting

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Minimum of one year experience as a staff nurse RN in an acute care hospital setting; E.R. setting preferred.
