Embedded Software Intern

About This Role

This internship offers a highly motivated student the opportunity to assist in various initiatives and projects related to embedded software development. Gain exposure to a fast-paced manufacturing and engineering environment while developing a detailed understanding of Plug Power’s products.

Responsibilities

• Assist in software design areas including Battery Management Systems (BMS), Electronic Control Units (ECUs), Motor Controllers (MCUs), DC/DC Converters, and Human Machine Interfaces (HMI)
• Maintain and enhance existing embedded software to improve reliability, performance, and compliance with updated standards (e.g., UL1998, ISO26262, IEC61508)
• Investigate and resolve software defects, field issues, and customer-reported problems, ensuring timely root cause analysis and corrective actions
• Gain a foundational understanding of industry standards, regulations, and best practices in manufacturing and technology
• Develop effective communication skills by collaborating with team members and presenting findings to different stakeholders

Requirements

• Pursuing a Bachelor of Science, Master's or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related program
• Reliable transportation to the office

• Demonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detail
