This role involves assessing and determining eligibility for various human services programs by interpreting complex state, federal, and county policies for the Cass Human Service Zone's Economic Assistance Team.
Responsibilities
- Conduct interviews of applicants and recipients
- Process client applications
- Establish electronic records
- Attend training and workshops
- Perform defined case changes, workflow functions, and/or determinations
- Interpret state, federal, and county policies
- Monitor program and policy updates
- Maintain working knowledge of laws, rules, policies, procedures, and other regulations
Requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong teamwork and collaboration abilities
- Capacity to make effective decisions in a dynamic environment
- Comfortable working with all types of software and database applications
- Willingness to learn new technology programs
- Strong understanding of complex program policies and procedures
- Valid driver's license
- Auto insurance
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED and completion of a one-year eligibility worker certificate program, or 90 semester hours/135 quarter hours of a bachelor's degree program, or three years of relevant work experience; or completion of a two-year associate degree program.
- Entry level eligibility worker with specific experience requirements for I or Technician level.
