Elementary School Teacher

About This Role

Develop and maintain a productive classroom environment for elementary students, fostering their physical, intellectual, emotional, and social needs. Collaborate with staff and parents to support student learning and uphold school standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a classroom environment conducive to effective learning.
• Model positive expectations for the classroom and students.
• Adapt daily routines to meet individual student interests and needs.
• Plan and implement activities addressing physical, intellectual, emotional, and social needs.
• Provide a physically and psychologically safe and secure environment for children.
• Integrate special needs children in a positive and respectful manner.
• Exercise professionalism with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Prepare for assigned classes and show written evidence of preparation upon request.
• Evaluate student progress on a regular basis.
• Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, school policy, and administrative regulations.

Requirements

• Minimum B.A/B.S degree in teaching from an accredited institution in the appropriate education area
• Properly certified to meet IL Teaching License Standards
• Current Professional Educator License (PEL)
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders
• Knowledge of relevant technology including the use of technology in the classroom
• Meet professional teacher education requirements
• Ability and proven ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis

Qualifications

• B.A/B.S degree in teaching from an accredited institution in the appropriate education area.
