Support and cultivate a high-expectation school culture at an elementary school designed to empower students. Coach teachers to maximize school-wide academic growth and character development, ensuring they feel supported in their daily work.
Responsibilities
- Establish a loving, structured, and achievement-oriented school culture with the Principal
- Facilitate faculty training and support regarding discipline, relationships, expectations, consistency, and management
- Coordinate and implement a school-wide discipline system with incentives and consequences
- Act as the primary contact for student behavior support flagged by teachers
- Conduct regular school culture walkthroughs and audits to maintain high standards of excellence
- Problem-solve with students, teachers, and families to improve individual student behavior
- Build and maintain strong relationships with families, modeling strong family engagement
- Coach teachers on classroom culture, management, and instruction, and deliver instructional professional development
- Conduct data meetings with teachers and monitor overall academic progress for students
- Perform daily school duties such as monitoring lunch, arrival, dismissal, and covering classes
Requirements
- Significant and consistent personal and professional achievement
- Bachelor’s degree
- 3+ years experience as a classroom teacher with proven high achievement
- 1+ year experience leading and/or coaching teachers (Assistant Principal, Principal, Dean, Instructional Coach, Teacher Coach)
- Unwavering commitment to KIPP Nashville’s mission, students, families, and community

- Passionate about data-driven instruction
- Excellent communication skills with diverse constituents
- Ability to tackle multiple projects with strong organization, prioritization, and follow-through
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
- 3+ years of experience as a classroom teacher AND 1+ year experience leading or coaching teachers
