The Electro-Mechanical Technician is responsible for the wiring, start-up, testing, and final verification of laser cutting machines. This role ensures full electrical and mechanical functionality according to quality standards and is ideal for a detail-oriented technician thriving in a hands-on manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform complete electrical and mechanical inspections to verify laser cutting machines meet all quality and performance standards
- Wire, start up, and test electro-mechanical systems to ensure proper operation and cutting accuracy
- Diagnose, analyze, and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and software-related issues
- Start up disk and fiber laser systems and validate cutting quality to company specifications
- Prepare approved and tested machines for shipment, ensuring proper documentation and packaging requirements are met
- Read, interpret, and work from blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
- Work confidently with high- and low-voltage electrical systems, as well as pneumatic and hydraulic circuits
- Verify test results meet required tolerances and document findings through quality reports
- Stay current with engineering change notices (ECNs) and technical product updates
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company standards
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in electro-mechanical assembly, machine start-up, and testing
- Strong working knowledge of industrial machine tools and laser systems
- Experience with electrical systems (high and low voltage), electronics, pneumatics, hydraulics, and industrial software
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, parts lists, and machine documentation
- Familiarity with machine operations, applications, and quality control processes
- Proven troubleshooting skills with strong attention to detail
