Assemble, wire, and test electrical panels, control systems, and automation equipment, ensuring all components are installed safely and accurately to support automated machinery and industrial control systems.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings
- Wire control panels, junction boxes, and automation cabinets according to design specifications
- Install components such as PLCs, relays, circuit breakers, power supplies, and terminal blocks
- Cut, strip, crimp, and terminate wires and cables using proper tools and techniques
- Route wiring neatly and securely, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards
- Perform continuity checks, insulation resistance tests, and functional testing of wired systems
- Diagnose and correct wiring issues, component failures, or misconfigurations
- Ensure all work meets electrical codes (e.g., NEC) and company standards
- Maintain accurate records of wiring changes, test results, and component specifications
- Work closely with engineers, automation technicians, and project managers to meet deadlines
Requirements
- 2+ years experience in electrical wiring
- Proficient in reading electrical schematics and technical drawings
- Strong knowledge of electrical components and wiring techniques
- Ability to use hand tools, crimping tools, and multimeters safely
- Ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfortable working in manufacturing or industrial environments
Qualifications
- High school diploma or technical certificate in Electrical Technology or related field
- 2+ years in electrical wiring, preferably in industrial automation or control systems
Nice to Have
- Experience in industrial automation or control systems
- Familiarity with PLCs, VFDs, sensors, and industrial control hardware
