This Project Manager will lead electrical engineering projects from proposal to closeout, ensuring successful execution against scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards. This role involves client interaction, team leadership, and technical oversight of electrical systems design and integration.
Responsibilities
- Manage the full lifecycle of electrical engineering projects from proposal development through design, construction administration, and closeout.
- Develop and manage project scopes, work plans, schedules, budgets, staffing plans, and deliverables.
- Monitor project progress, budgets, invoicing, and overall financial performance to ensure profitability.
- Identify project risks and proactively implement mitigation strategies.
- Prepare and review monthly project status reports, change orders, and financial forecasts.
- Review and approve electrical plans, specifications, calculations, reports, and engineer’s estimates for accuracy, completeness, and constructability.
- Ensure electrical designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
- Serve as the primary client point of contact for assigned electrical engineering projects.
- Lead, coach, and mentor electrical engineering staff to support technical excellence and professional growth.
- Support business development efforts through client relationship management and pursuit of new project opportunities.
Requirements
- Thorough knowledge of applicable electrical codes, building codes, zoning requirements, permitting, and approval processes.
- Strong understanding of electrical power, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems.
- Proven ability to manage multiple moderate to large electrical engineering projects simultaneously.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and team management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; working knowledge of AutoCAD.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible electrical engineering and project management experience.
Nice to Have
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Experience managing electrical engineering projects through construction
- Familiarity with electrical engineering analysis and design software
