Electrical Engineering Manager

About This Role

Lead the electrical engineering function, providing technical direction, people leadership, and project oversight. This role is responsible for engineering strategy, execution, and cross-functional collaboration for power and substation-related products.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute electrical engineering strategy aligned with business and regulatory requirements.
• Lead and develop electrical engineers and test technicians.
• Oversee design, development, testing, and validation of electrical systems for substations, switchgear, transformers, protective relays, and power distribution.
• Provide technical leadership on protection & control systems, medium- and low-voltage systems, and power systems analysis.
• Ensure compliance with ANSI, IEEE, NEC, and applicable industry standards.
• Drive design-for-manufacturability in collaboration with mechanical, manufacturing, and project teams.
• Manage engineering budgets, schedules, and resources.
• Support customer-facing technical discussions and cross-functional initiatives to improve product reliability and customer satisfaction.
• Recruit, onboard, and develop engineering talent.

Requirements

• 10+ years of electrical engineering experience
• 5+ years in an engineering leadership role
• Strong experience with protection & control systems and substation electrical design
• Proven ability to lead teams and manage complex engineering projects
• Strong communication and decision-making skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
• 10+ years of electrical engineering experience, with 5+ years in an engineering leadership role

Nice to Have

• Professional Engineer (PE) license
