Electrical Design Team Coordinator

About This Role

The Electrical Design Team Coordinator will assist in and execute complex electrical distribution projects, focusing on power systems design, GIS integration, and CAD precision. This role involves producing high-quality design documents and contributing to the growth and development of the design team.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical power distribution systems for emergency, commercial, residential, lighting, and renewable applications
• Utilize GIS platforms and engineering standards to produce accurate, high-quality design documentation
• Conduct field measurements using laser range finders and analyze field photographs to inform design
• Import and manipulate high-resolution CAD drawings within GIS systems with meticulous precision
• Produce design prints and planning for construction activities
• Uphold the highest standards of quality and accuracy in all deliverables
• Assist in hiring and mentoring junior engineers
• Promote collaboration and drive continuous improvement in design processes and technical standards

Requirements

• Strong foundation in electrical engineering principles and practices
• Understanding of electrical loading (Line side and Load side)
• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, MicroStation)
• Familiarity with NEC (National Electrical Code) and other relevant standards
• Ability to interpret and create technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Effective communication skills for team collaboration and client interaction
• Minimum three (3) years of experience in Electrical Distribution Engineering (BGE experience essential)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Detail-oriented with strong written communication skills
