About This Role

Provide high-level electrical support, including PLC programming, electrical and program troubleshooting, and project support for manufacturing operations within a climate-controlled plant. This role guides technicians and supervises contractors on-site to ensure optimal performance and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Work safely and in accordance with facility safety guidelines and procedures
  • Provide daily process support to the Operations Team
  • Provide higher level technical support for troubleshooting equipment and process related issues
  • Guide and direct other Technicians in identifying solutions and corrective actions for equipment problems and electronic programming
  • Establish and manage daily schedule of events for the technical team, prioritizing emergency items
  • Supervise contractors and other Technicians
  • Spearhead the procurement and development of equipment and process documentation
  • Lead troubleshooting tasks, schedule and manage Root Cause Analysis meetings to prevent repeat failures
  • Troubleshoot equipment problems, determine causes, and implement necessary repairs including program modification
  • Utilize lean manufacturing processes in managing projects
  • Modify existing logic and writing as projects mandate
  • Train and mentor ECT level I & II associates using an approved training plan
  • Function as project liaison between global engineering and plant electrical resources

Requirements

  • Minimum of an AS Electronics Technology or a 2-year industrial maintenance or equivalent program
  • 5 years’ experience with automation and controls equipment including AB Control Logix or AB Studio 5000 and at least one other controls platform
  • Considered a Subject Matter Expert (SME) of PLC ladder logic, HMI, and Vision system programming
  • Advanced knowledge of Allen Bradley Studio 5000/RS Logix and Factory Talk Batch
  • Advanced Knowledge of robotic programming, 24VDC systems and ability to make modifications to control systems
  • Advanced knowledge of Electrical safety in both High and Low Voltage Controls
  • Understanding of networking, including setup, communications, and troubleshooting
  • Minimum Score of 85% on the internal Industrial Electrical Standards Assessment

Qualifications

  • AS Electronics Technology or a 2-year industrial maintenance or equivalent program
  • 5 years’ experience with automation and controls equipment including AB Control Logix or AB Studio 5000 and at least one other controls platform or equivalent combination of education and experience
