Electrical Application Engineer – Power Generation / DER

About This Role

Support distributed generation and microgrid projects from concept through commissioning by designing, integrating, and troubleshooting power systems. This hands-on role involves collaborating with senior engineers and project teams to ensure critical operations run smoothly.

Responsibilities

• Support and review system design and integration for distributed power generation and microgrid projects
• Develop and review electrical one-lines, P&IDs, and control schematics
• Assist with equipment selection, system sizing, and component specification
• Participate in site evaluations, technical reviews, and commissioning
• Communicate with clients, vendors, and internal teams to ensure alignment and project success

Requirements

• 3-6 years of experience in electrical, controls engineering, applications engineering, or systems design
• Strong electrical background
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD or similar design tools
• Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical drawings
• Excellent communication
• Curiosity and a desire to learn quickly

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred
• 3-6 years of experience in electrical or controls engineering, applications engineering, or systems design
