Process applications, determine eligibility for, and manage caseloads for economic assistance programs. Conduct interviews, evaluate financial information, and refer clients to support services.
Responsibilities
- Process applications for various economic assistance programs (SNAP, Medicaid, Emergency Assistance/LIEAP, School Clothing Vouchers)
- Ascertain eligibility for economic assistance programs
- Oversee a caseload of clients for economic assistance programs
- Schedule telephone and face-to-face interviews with clients
- Conduct personal interviews with clients to gather personal, financial, and social information
- Determine eligibility for services
- Maintain an up-to-date client caseload
- Refer clients to various supportive services and agencies when needed
- Obtain repayment from clients who have been issued benefits erroneously
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university
- Ability to conduct personal interviews
- Ability to evaluate data against established standards and guidelines
- Valid driver's license (may be required)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university, or equivalent experience/education
